Our history began in 2016, when Rijk Zwaan, after several years of development, first presented the market with a new variety of lettuce offering unique characteristics.   

The result was an innovative lettuce which provides slim leaves, a new texture and a distinctive sweet and fresh flavour.

These features combined to offer great value for the retail market, the HORECA sector and “on the go” consumption.

Over the course of 2017 the product was presented at a number of international trade fairs and gastronomic events, with great success.  

Towards the end of 2017 and early 2018, four leading producers joined forces to ensure lasting quality and supply.

At the end of 2018 snack lettuce received the Accelera Award for innovation and entrepreneurship at the Fruit Attraction trade fair.

The product is currently marketed in Spain and a number of countries around Europe throughout the year.
